Timothée Chalamet’s journey to becomingBob Dylanhas officially begun.
The actor, 28, was spotted on the set of James Mangold’s upcomingbiopic about the famed songwriter,A Complete Unknown, in New York City on Sunday.

Not much is known about the biopic, thoughMangold previously confirmed that Chalamet will be singing in character as Dylanin the film — his latest musical feat followingWonka.
“It’s such an amazing time in American culture, and the story of Bob’s — a young, 19-year-old Bob Dylan coming to New York with two dollars in his pocket and becoming a worldwide sensation within three years,” Mangold, 60, toldColliderlast year. “First being embraced into a family of folk music in New York and of course kind of outrunning him at a certain point as his star rises so beyond belief.”
The biopic will also include some other notable figures from the era, including Woody Guthrie, Joan Baez and Pete Seeger, who all “have a role to play in this movie,” Mangold told the outlet.
“It’s such an interesting true story and about such an interesting moment in the American scene,” he added.
Deadlinereported thatEdward Nortonjoined the movie’s cast as folk singer Seeger, replacingBenedict Cumberbatch, who stepped away due to scheduling conflicts.Elle Fanningwill also star, playing Dylan’s love interest, Sylvie Russo.

Back in January,Chalamet visited Dylan’s high school in Hibbing, Minnesota, as he prepared for the role. During the visit, he spent some time with the Hibbing High School drama department, which they detailed in aposton Facebook the following day,
“HHS Drama accidentally blew up the internet: We spent about 45 minutes with Timothée Chalamet yesterday at the historic Hibbing Auditorium,” the school’s drama department wrote in the post. “He was a total gem. In town researching all things Bob Dylan for an upcoming biopic, he asked his tour guide if he could meet with the drama students who were working on their competition one act.”

Chalamet posed with several students, who were rehearsing for a production ofThe Girl in the White Pinafore,andhe “sat down with them one on one, and talked acting and theater.”
“After our guest left, our students had their final dress rehearsal. And they nailed it. Something must have inspired them,” the post added.
