Goonies never say die!
The Gooniescast came together to support one of their own for a very special occasion. On Monday, Feb. 3,Ke Huy Quanwas honored with a hand and footprint ceremony at the TCL Chinese Theater in Los Angeles.
On deck for the celebration was the 1985 film’s screenwriter Chris Columbus and costarsCorey Feldman,Jeff Cohen, Kerri Green andJosh Brolin. The group posed together for a number of sentimental and silly photos.
Brolin also spoke at the event, “You’re truly one of the last existences of the American dream. Ke Huy Quan … I won’t say much but that afterThe Goonies, I too lived in the ethers of our business for 19 years. The only difference is I was still chipping away at leftovers and trading stocks full time while you pursued a whole other profession and excelled in it famously,” he shared.
“You have that Midas touch, my friend, and you have it because you have that heart of gold that you always have,” Brolin continued.

“As far back as 40 years it’s been, I was 16 years old. You were a spritely 13. I remember your family having the same heart-driven, totally inclusive disposition, always welcoming, always with open arms.”
“I could not be happier for you. I know we all are, all us Goonies here for an honor that is not only totally deserved but celebrates all that is right in this industry,” he concluded.
Missing from the action wasMartha Plimpton, as well asSean Astin, but those two enjoy their own reunion in the upcoming action film,Love Hurts.
Speaking withTooFabafter the ceremony, Quan, 53, said he “couldn’t control my emotions” during the remarks.
When jokes about an on-screen reunion flew, Quan was emphatic about being ready to get back into Data’s world anytime.
“I love that movie so much. It’s one of the greatest adventures of my life,” he said. “I would be so happy to revisit that character and, of course, go on another Goonies adventure with my fellow Goonies, that would be amazing!”
