The “Umbrella” singer, 36, spoke withVogue Chinafor their April issue, telling the outlet she strives to embrace individuality in her work and parenting. Rihanna is mom to sons RZA, 22 months, and Riot, 7 months, whom she shares with partnerA$AP Rocky, 35.
“The most beautiful thing…is that [children] come into the world with their own individuality and sincerity, without any logic or conformity, which usually makes you feel that you must fit into a certain group,” she says.
“It’s really beautiful to see and I want to continue to help them navigate that and make sure that they know they can be whoever they want to be…they should embrace it completely, because it’s beautiful, and it’s unique. I love them just that way.”

Rihanna has shared in the past that she likes to dress her sons in pink and floral patterns, opening up more about her choices in an interview withBritishVoguelast year.
“One of my favorite outfits he has is a miniature version of one of Rocky’s,” Rihanna told the outlet of a tartan kilt she had commissioned for her son RZA.

In an interview withPage Sixin November, Rihannashared that her connection with Rockyhad gotten deeper since the couple welcomed their two kids together.
“I love him differently as a dad. This is major, major…it’s a turn on,” she told the outlet. “It’s just like, wow. What a leader, what a great, patient loving…and my kids are obsessed with him.”
