Princess Charleneof Monaco’s birthday is certainly sweet!
Princess Charlene turned 46 on Wednesday and celebrated the occasion with her husband,Prince Albert, and their twin children,Prince JacquesandPrincess Gabriella, both 9. The family paid an afternoon visit to the Condamine Market, where Charlene was treated to a seven-tier birthday cake.
A photo of the royals checking out the confection was shared across the Princely Palace of Monaco’s social media accounts. Princess Charlene and Prince Albert, 65, smiled at the white iced cake decorated with flowers and butterflies.
Princess Charlene wore a camel Cube Tregil quilted vest from Max Mara to the permanent indoor and outdoor marketplace at the foot of the Rock of Monaco — and had a matching moment with Princess Gabriella. The mother and daughter were complementary in shades of camel and gray, as Charlene layered a gray top and scarf under the vest. Princess Gabriella, who is known to be abudding fashionista, complemented her mom in a gray turtleneck and camel coat.

Earlier in the day, the Princely Palace of Monaco wished Princess Charlene a happy birthday with anInstagramtribute.
“Happy Birthday to H.S.H. Princess Charlene,” courtiers captioned an undated snap of Charlene.
Dressed in midnight blue, the little princess wore an outfit almost identical to her mother’s — right down to her Stephen Jones beret. Prince Jacques, meanwhile, wore a military uniform and cap to match Prince Albert, who is the sovereign of Monaco.

Monaco National Day commemorates the centennial ofPrince Rainier, who, along with his wifePrincess Grace, founded the country’s modern dynasty, and a series of events were held to commemorate the celebration. In December, the court shared anew portraitof Princess Gabriella and Prince Jacques taken on National Day in honor of their 9th birthday.

During an interview with PEOPLE before his birthday in March 2023, Prince Albertgave a glimpse at the twins' personalities— and their cheekiness.
Having previously described his daughterPrincess Gabriella as a “pistol,“Prince Albert said she still “has that little mischievous twinkle in her eye. She has her own little personality and sometimes does things that are, you know — she’ll try to use her brother and get him into trouble…”

Speaking about how the young royals have adjusted to making more public outings, Prince Albert said that Gabriella “can sometimes feel a little uncomfortable around too many people,” so her brother steps in to help. “Between them now, Jacques talks more, engages more, in public.”
“The fact they have normal school activities again, school sports, aren’t in the little palace school room and are interacting with numbers of other kids has given them back a lot of confidence. Character develops in different situations, and different experiences bring out different qualities in them,” Prince Albert added.
