A woman is embroiled in a real-life soap opera after her roommate confronted her for removing herhair productsfrom their shared shower.
The 28-year-old woman turned toReddit’s “Am I the A——” forumto detail how her 34-year-old male friend and roommate called her “rude and petty” for moving her “expensive shampoo and conditioner” from the shower and “hiding” them in her room when his female friend stayed over.
“Last weekend, while we were away, he invited his female friend (Sarah) to stay over,” she began her Jan. 22 Reddit post. “When we got back, I noticed she had used most of my shampoo and conditioner without asking. I had splurged on these expensive products to treat myself.”
Ahead of Sarah’s next visit, the woman noted that she stashed the hair products in her room and vented she earns “a lot less money" than her roommate.

“Today, Sarah came over again for a visit and asked to shower at ours before heading to a dance class,” the woman continued. “However, I had taken my expensive products to my room this time, leaving only my friend’s basic shampoo out for her to use.”
That’s when Sarah spoke up about the absent toiletries.
“When she couldn’t find the conditioner, she asked my friend, who came to my room to ask me about it,” the woman added. “I told him that she’s his guest, and it’s not my responsibility to provide spa products for her. My friend got mad and thinks I’m rude and petty.”

Seeking opinions, the woman asked Redditors, “AITA [am I the a——] for hiding my expensive shampoo and conditioner from my friend’s guest?”
“Both of them should know what happened and one of them SHOULD offer to repay the loss in some way,” one person replied.
“It’s ridiculous that she complained about products she has no ownership of missing from the shower. It’s not rude or petty of you,” the Redditor added. ”She’s the rude one for not only disrespecting personal property, but then pushing about it when it was no longer present in the shower.”
In an update to her story, the original poster told the Reddit forum that, “I showed my friend where to buy the shampoo and conditioner … he said he’s sorry for getting angry and ordered new bottles for everyone to use.”
