Lil Xan is addressing rumors that he and his partner, Annie Smith, fakedtheir pregnancyandmiscarriageearlier this month after fans pointed out that their ultrasound photos looked eerily similar to ones that could be found on Google.
During an interview withNo Jumperon Tuesday, the 22-year-old rapper revealed that he has been questioning the legitimacy of the pregnancy himself.
“I did not fake a pregnancy,” Lil Xan said. “I saw two pregnancy tests with the line that said, ‘You’re pregnant,’ and I was like, ‘Okay, so she’s definitely pregnant.’ But, I mean, I didn’t watch her pee.”
“Then I looked up if you could fake a pregnancy test,” he continued. “I mean, it’s pretty easy.”
When asked whether he thinks that Smith truly faked her pregnancy, Lil Xan (whose real name is Nicholas Diego Leanos) said, “I’m 50/50.”
Lil Xan then said that he asked Smith for proof and that they’re “supposed to be getting some documentation from Kaiser Permanente.”
“I was like, ‘I need the paperwork of the miscarriage that you had,'” he said. “This is another suspicious thing — I was like, ‘Go down to the hospital — because it’s on our street — and get the paperwork saying you had a miscarriage,’ but she came back saying, ‘Oh, I have to do this process and s—.’ It really gets you thinking, you know what I mean? I want to give her the benefit of the doubt.”
As to the current status of his relationship with Smith, Lil Xan said, “It’s complicated. It’s very complicated. Don’t get me wrong, I love Annie to death but, like, it’s complicated as f— right now. We in limbo or some s—.”
News of the pair’s pregnancy was announced in February, two months after Lil Xanchecked out of rehabfor a drug addiction which he had checked himself intotwo weeks prior. “Out and Sober,” he tweeted on Dec. 16, along with a broken-heart emoji and an emoji of praying hands.
But then a fan account, Xanarchy Tea, posted screenshots of the ultrasound scan shown in the YouTube video the couple shared, alongside the photos that appear when you Google “week 9 ultrasound,” claiming that the images “line up perfectly” when placed on top of each other.
“The moment I met you I knew you were special. I fell head over heels in love with you and only love you more and more every single day. I didn’t know it was possible to feel this way about another human,” wrote Smith.
“Starting a family with you has been the most magical, beautiful blessing God has given me. today I feel a hurt I never knew existed. a pain that comes from my soul. to my beautiful angel, mommy loves you more than she ever knew possible. you have made me the happiest woman in the world knowing I had the chance to be your mommy,” Smith said.
“Feeling you grow inside my body has been the most special gift I have been given, my prayers were answered with you. I wish more than anything that I could meet you, hold you and love you. teach you all the beautiful things in life and show you the world,” she continued.
