Guillermo del Toro is a collector . Props , paintings , eldritch shit — he buys anything , and put it in a lower-ranking residence he purchased just to hold it all . He calls this place Bleak House and while it was private for a long time , del Toro is now bringing his fixation to the world .
Starting in July , about 500 pieces from del Toro ’s Bleak House collection will go on video display at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art ( LACMA , for short . ) It ’ll stay on on display there through November and then go to Toronto , as well Minneapolis ( allot toLACMA ) , and potentially Mexico City , Barcelona , Paris and New York ( according todel Toro ) .
So what ’s in the collection ? Props from del Toro ’s films , props from some of his favorite film he did n’t make , original painting , statues , old account book , toys , skeleton , pretty much anything the director finds cool and weird , he ’d turn over it . The TV below fromCriterion Collectiongives you a secure idea .

We ’ll have more on this display as it gets close to opening .
