The film eXistenZ is many things : a comment on videogame madness , a probability to see Jennifer Jason Leigh caress a nipple - cover biologic game comptroller , and a gravely weird “ what is literal ” fib that does n’t always work . It ’s one of David “ The Fly ” Cronenberg ’s lesser films for a serious reason . And yet there are consequence in it that rightfully smoothen , such as this one when the prissy Jude Law decides he needs to get a bioport — a secret plan port in his spikelet — so he can jack into virtual realism and play Jennifer Jason Leigh ’s cool secret plan called ( what else ? ) eXistenZ. Unfortunately , he needs an untraceable gameport in the eye of the nighttime , so he visits a local gasoline post to get one under the table . Who better than Willem Dafoe to pullulate that sucker into his backbone ? [ eXistenz ]
