The conclusion to Batman RIP has finally arrived . Two months after the end of the history , and in a unlike comic in all , yes , but the concluding fate of Batman is now ( kinda ) know . Spoilers , obviously .
As those who register this calendar week ’s funnies have apparently already run into , Bruce Wayne is utter . He died at the end of Final Crisis # 6 , meeting his terminal while trying to save the planet from malign god Darkseid in DC Comics ’ much - delayed blockbuster , and if you postulate proof of his demise , you not only see him being hit by Darkseid ’s Omega beam , Superman appear on the last page hold his corpse . Case closed in .

Aficionados of Jack Kirby ’s Fourth World comic strip – where Crisis ’ villain Darkseid comes from are jolly familiar with the Omega Beams , and the effects they have on people . Particularly the effects they had on the rubric characters from Kirby ’s Forever People , in the 6th issue of that series , where they too were hit by the Omega Beams , and apparently died … only to be sent back in time , as was unwrap in the next yield . While we ’re not certain what the account is for the skeleton in the cupboard in the Batman costume , we ’re sure of one thing : Somewhere , somewhen , Bruce Wayne is alive … and waiting for whenever DC Comics are ready to fetch him back .
