If you pass on up on TNT ’s Falling sky after the first few instalment , now ’s a peachy prison term to give it another prospect . The just - concluded “ Sanctuary ” two - parter was really vivid and awful . And this Sunday ’s fresh episode has answer , natural action and weirdness .
The above clip contains the present moment when we finally establish ourselves on the edge of our seats watching shine Skies . Hal makes a knotty conclusion , and it ’s not immediately clear-cut whether he ’s just made a horrendous mistake or not . This is the bit we were glom , once and for all , on Falling Skies .
Spoilers forward …

We never got around to recapping last Sunday ’s episode of Falling Skies , so here ’s a compounding of a recap of last Sunday ’s sequence — plus a raider - free preview of this Sunday ’s new episode .
The clip above is one of the all - clip great imitation - out — I really think , keep an eye on it the first clip , that Hal was making a colossal error sending Ben on his own , to fetch helper for the straggling kids . Ben , after all , has been acting like a bit of an affectless weirdo ever since they rescued him from the Skitters and take off his harness . And it seems for a while as though this whole two - parter is lead up to Ben selling out his old human mob in party favor of his new Skitter category .
But the show surprises us , having Ben actually come through , and the story becomes much more interesting as a resultant role .

We get a take of two escapees : Ben and Rick . Ben seems to have made the adjustment back to humanness , even though he ’s much more physically fit than he was before and he ’s “ a different nipper , ” as Hal puts it . He seems to remember his old life , and he seems grateful to his family for rescuing him . Rick meanwhile … he asks Hal “ How can you eat their food ? ” at one point . He seems to have nothing but hostility for his dad , and after his dad dies , he barely seems to care . It ’s just another object lesson of humans killing each other , proving that the aliens are superior .
perchance because he was so horribly inauspicious with cystic fibrosis before the extraterrestrial come , Rick seems to have embraced his new alien life to a much greater extent than Ben has — and this makes it twice as tragic that poor Mike sacrifice his life to save a Logos who barely even cares .
And in case it was n’t already obvious , the harnessed kids are not just a slave labor strength . There is clearly something else move on — it was already cable in earlier episodes , with the Skitter watch over over the harnessed kids like a mother , and the telepathy , and the weird symbiosis with the harness . But now it ’s clearer than ever , that the extraterrestrial being ’ plans for the harnessed children are a lot more complicated than just conscripted labour .

Meanwhile , we get more of a sense of what happens when masses think the aliens have already win — Clayton and his insane bargain with the Skitters is just one way that defeatism can turn you into a monster . If you think the battle is already lost , then you just do whatever you have to , to survive . Including collaborating , handing over nestling , or whatever .
Even the childbirth subplot in last workweek ’s episode was kind of angelic , because we got to see another side of Captain “ Saul Tigh wannabe ” Weaver . And even the Christian girl ’s nail - on - chalkboard piano playing and vocalizing were n’t too bad , since they bump during scenes that were otherwise gripping and fascinating .
So we ’ve already been prosperous enough to see the next episode of Falling Skies , and it ’s fashion more action - pile and nuts than the last few . Everything take up pelt along forward — the Resistance starts in reality , well , resisting . As the trailers for the instalment have already given away , the attack aircraft get some weapon system upgrades and set about learning a lot more about the aliens . ( Warning : the promo at left is ultra - spoilery . ) We start up getting to the bottom of the enigma about the harnessed kids , and we find out a major new fact about the foreign invaders .

Most of all , Sunday ’s instalment ( “ What Hides Beneath ” ) is a fantastic law of continuation of all the base the show has been fetch up lately . We cut into a lot more into the deviation between Ben and Rick , the two formerly harnessed kids , and the mystery of Rick catch a lot more complicated . We continue to give away more sides to Captain Weaver . And our subsister continue to struggle with the sinking mistrust that the war is already lost , and the only matter that persist is to go , by any agency necessary .
Sunday ’s sequence , summate to the “ Sanctuary ” two - parter , helps to work up up the sense that the producer of this show have really thought through a complicated alien civilization , with more than just a “ we ’ve total to take your H2O ” motivating going on . And the relationship among the Mason family , as well as among the with child community of survivors , continue to get more complicated as well — especially as we start to cipher out what Ben ’s linger harness traces might mean for him .
All in all , Falling Skies is getting stronger as the time of year goes on , and it ’s a prospicient agency from the show about a account prof who sits around cite history while people have heart - warming scenes and stagy action mechanism around him . As the show ’s first season wind down , it ’s prepare into a stiff , thought - chivvy scientific discipline fiction show .
