Empty Paradise
This one was taken by my fiancée yesterday while visit my aunt and my mother for Mother ’s Day in Ogunquit , Maine . It was a wonderful sidereal day with temperature in the 80s but the beach was perfectly abandoned and in all likelihood wo n’t be tamp down until June or July . My fiancée Courtney take this with my Canon PowerShot SX280 on automatic ( f/4 , 1/250 , ISO-80 ) and I did some cropping and minor colour correction for the re - sized version .

It was taken using a Canon 5D MK III with Canon 24 - 70 f/2.8L lens on a pair of Manfrotto exposure head atop a pair of Manfroto carbon fibre sticks .
I was out shooting in the hilly regions of Southern California to take a solicitation of modelesque dig for a conception directors portfolio . Along the windy mountain pass route i discontinue when i saw a vivid ravine with a batting cage like fencing stuck in the centre . I set the model between the rundle of the cage and sat camera half a football game field distance by . I snapped a number of exposure using HDR technique which i then abandon in favor of a lengthy exposure time . I add the photo into faint room and bring down the highlights and boosted the shadows which convey the contingent out of the treeline . This photo was fill when my friends and I were experiment with shots around their motorcar at evenfall . We were going to film a scenery at the storage warehouse area and even though when the luminance were all unlike from what I had imagined they would take care like when they plough on . I used my piddling Nikon D3100 which I have been using for three twelvemonth ( and am hoping to upgrade ) with a 50 mm 1.8 lens of the eye .

Trek
My lone survivor is trekking North in hopes of finding other survivor in more rural locating . He is taking one last look back at the City by the Bay that was once his home .
I like the idea of create a scene of a usually busy place null of mass . On a sunny twenty-four hours , the Golden Gate bridge deck is packed with tourists and cars go back and forward over the span . I cerebrate it would be a merriment challenge to see if I could set up a picture of the bridge empty , something I have never see , even at night . I fool this on Saturday morning at about 11:30am on May 10th , 2014 from the Marin Headlands . I put my camera up on a tripod in a few unlike locations and snap away remotely attempt to happen breaks in the traffic at various points along the bridge deck . I opted for the shot through an old chain link fencing and include the some of the abandoned bunkers that are up there to serve sell the idea that no one had been there in a long time . I interpreted the theme of “ Lone Survivor ” and went for something of an “ Impressionistic fantasm selfie . ” The base image was beguile with an iPhone 5S as a shadow on crushed rock . I put it through Paint.net 3.5.11 with a small crop to get the shoes out , and then applied a sepia filter . I next inverted the color , and realized that I had my snapshot . I like the agency the gravel when reverse gives the appearance of a droning mosaic .
